About this Episode

Conor is an Irish jazz singer based in Vienna, Austria. He currently studies Jazz Singing at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) and works as a freelance session singer, voiceover artist and singing teacher.

Originally from Limerick, Conor grew up surrounded by great music and was given many opportunities to cut his teeth in his hometown. There, he fronted an original rock band that opened for The Blizzards. He also played keys in a funk-rock band that played festivals like Electric Picnic, Knockenstockan and Indie Week in Toronto. The band released an EP, played on Balcony TV and were invited to play at the Presidential garden party in Aras an Uachtarain. Check out Leading Armies on Youtube

Conor's big claim to fame was when he was a contestant on The Voice Of Ireland (1st series) and was the first in the series to get all four chairs to turn. An experience that he talks about in his podcast–The Let's Talk Singing Podcast. His other big claim to fame is that he starred alongside Pat Short in the Irish feature film "Garage" and was nominated for an award at the IFTA's. The film went on to win Best Film, Director and Actor at Cannes Film Festival.

Conor was fortunate enough to play with some well known musicians over the years such as Van Morrison's current guitarist Dave Keary, Miles Davis' former saxophonist Dave Liebman, and Larry McKenna who has played with Frank Sinatra.
